The Wilderness Cabin

WILDERNESS OUTPOST CABIN In July, 2000, with the generosity of Pioneer Log Homes and the assistance of many friends and neighbors, Mary Kirner built her dream cabin on leased land on a pristine alpine lake, at the foot of Wilderness Mountain, elevation 5500 feet.  The cabin was handcrafted at Pioneer's site in Williams Lake, then trucked to Nimpo Lake and loaded piece by piece on to float planes and helicopters and flown to its new home. The location has amazing wildflowers and spectacular mountain vistas.

ABOUT WILDERNESS LAKE: The alpine terrain offers amazing hiking, exploring and wildflower viewing. The cabin  is comfy and rustic. It has a wood stove, but it is not needed on warm summer nights. A sun-shower can be set up for bathing, or just jump in the clear lake to cool off.  No electricity or plumbing.  Please click on this list of items supplied & items to bring.

All supplies will need to be flown in with you, and flown back out with you (including garbage & laundry which can be dropped off at Nimpo Lake Resort). A stay in this remote alpine cabin is an extremely unique and special experience. This is a very pristine, natural area and must be treated with respect.

Bookings can only be made from early July - mid September due to weather.

Cabin Rates:  $120.00 per night/$600.00 per week/ cabin sleeps 6, 2 on a fold out futon, and 4 in the loft.

** Note, The Cessna can take you in, but they need to use the Beaver to get you back out again because the 185 cannot take off on that small lake, with a full load.

Maximum load for the Beaver to take off from the small lake is 600 lbs, excluding the pilot, so he may need to make two trips, depending on the size of the load.
